For publishers, editors and writing programs

Know how a book reads. Before it goes to print.

Silly Purple is reader testing you run under your own name. Your authors upload manuscripts, real readers read them as a proper ebook, and you see how every book on your list was actually read.

Our own reader

The reader is the product.Every tap tells you something.

Your authors' readers don't get a PDF. They get our own ebook reader, built to catch what they feel at the line they feel it, without pulling them out of the story.

  1. 01 / 11

    Open the link. Start reading.

No app and no password. The book opens where they left off, on any device. The first time in, a short film shows them around.

  2. 02 / 11

    Make it theirs.

Bigger text, another font, more room between lines. Light, sepia or dark. Scroll like a web page, or turn pages like a book.

  3. 03 / 11

    React to any line.

Press and hold a line, pick one of seven reactions, keep reading. The line gets underlined, so the exact sentence that made them laugh, or lose the thread, is on record.

    😮Surprised❤️Love this😂Funny😢Emotional😕Confused😴Dragging🤔Suspicious
  4. 04 / 11

    Highlight what they love.

One tap marks a line worth keeping. Highlights show what's working, not only what isn't.

  5. 05 / 11

    Comment on the sentence.

"I didn't see that coming!" sits right next to the line it's about. Read in context, not in an email a week later.

  6. 06 / 11

    Or just say it.

Rather talk than type? They tap Voice and talk, and the wave moves as they speak. Their words are typed up automatically. No signal? It's saved on the phone and sent when they're back online.

  7. 07 / 11

This spot, or the whole chapter.

No line in mind? The speech bubble in the corner comments on where they are, or on the chapter as a whole.

  8. 08 / 11

    An emoji for every chapter.

When a chapter ends: how did it make you feel? One tap, and they're back in the story. Together the votes map how the book feels, chapter by chapter.

  9. 09 / 11

The author's questions, right after the scene.

Yes or no, multiple choice, a rating or their own words, asked while it's fresh. One-time questions can't be revisited, so the answer is the gut reaction. They can always skip.

  10. 10 / 11

    Everything in My notes.

Every reaction, highlight, comment, voice note and answer in one list. Tap one to jump back, or change an answer. Only the reader and the author see it.

  11. 11 / 11

    The last page.

When they finish, one last question: what did they think of the whole book? In writing, or out loud.

Fewer guesses.More evidence.

Every manuscript has a chapter readers skim and a scene they'll talk about for years. Find out which is which while you can still change it.

Publishers

Before you commit to a manuscript, a cover or a print run, see whether readers finish it, and where they don't.

Editors

Edit with evidence. Show your author the chapter readers called dragging, in their own words, with the drop-off beside it.

Literary agencies

Test a manuscript before it goes out, and know its strongest chapters before anyone asks.

Writing schools and workshops

Give every student real readers and real data on their own book, under your school's name.

Self-publishing services

Add reader testing to your packages, as your own service.

Their manuscripts. Your readers.Nobody else's.

Private by design

Every book is visible only to its author, your managers and the readers they invite. No public pages, nothing indexed.

Brands kept apart

Your books, authors and readers live in your brand only. No other brand can see them.

No manuscripts to the AI

The AI summary reads what readers wrote, under pseudonyms. Never the manuscript.

Readers can stay anonymous

Authors then see "Anonymous reader #7", not a name.

Access you control

Remove any reader or member, any time.

Stored in the EU

The database and files live in Frankfurt.

English and Hebrew.Both directions, properly.

The interface, the reader and the emails speak both. Right to left is built in, not bolted on: chapter titles, selection, highlights and comments all work in Hebrew. Set your brand's default, and each person can switch.

Questions,answered.

Can we use our own domain?

Yes, any domain or subdomain you own. We add it and show you the one DNS record to set.

Will our authors and readers see "Silly Purple"?

They see your name, logo and colours on every page and in every sign-in email.

Who brings the readers?

Your authors do, or you do. We don't supply readers.

Can authors see each other's books?

No. Each author sees only their own. Your managers see all of them.

Can we run it ourselves?

Yes. Managers invite authors and other managers, and see every book, reader and result.

Does the AI read manuscripts?

No. It reads only what readers wrote, under pseudonyms, and only when an author asks.

Which languages?

English and Hebrew, for the interface, the reader and the emails.

What does it cost?

Priced per brand. Book a demo and we'll walk you through it.
